Launch of the Horizontal Cooperation Platform in Science, Technology and Innovation Strengthening Regional Cooperation through Artificial Intelligence

Within the framework of initiatives promoted by the Forum of the Americas for Agricultural Research and Technological Development (FORAGRO) in science, technology and innovation (STI), the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) will hold the launch of the Horizontal Cooperation Platform in Science, Technology and Innovation. The platform aims to build a regional network that fosters collaboration, knowledge exchange, and joint STI initiatives across the Americas. The event will highlight the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a key tool to enhance knowledge management, productivity, and sustainability in agri-food systems. It will bring together directors and representatives of the National Agricultural Research Institutes (INIA), FORAGRO members, and specialists engaged in STI development. Through keynote addresses, institutional reflections, and the formal presentation of the platform, participants will explore how AI can strengthen regional scientific cooperation and innovation capabilities.
